President’s Message: Essential Services, Essential People, Thank You.

To all of you I want to say, “thank you”. This has been a remarkable “first week”. The first week of what will be our new normal for the foreseeable future. I realize it has been difficult, but I am proud of the way we have responded as an essential service provider to this unprecedented global event. As I was walking the floor of our Brampton facility earlier this week and took note of many of the mission critical items we produce across three foundational pillars – healthcare, supply chain and financial services it reminded me of the crucial role DCM plays in the essential services that we, as Canadians, often take for granted. That is, but for times like these when our dependence on these three pillars is put under the microscope. It reinforced what most of you already know, DCM is one of a handful of organizations on the front line of this fight.

Our manufacturing capabilities, technology solutions and our coast-to-coast reach are mission critical to the industry leaders in healthcare, supply chain and financial services. Every moment of every day we are serving thousands of pharmacies, hundreds of hospitals, retirement and assisted living centres and multiple integrated health networks who are attending to the wellness needs of our family, friends and neighbours. I said it last week, I said it this week and I will continue to reiterate it, we are “open for business”. Would I call it business as usual? No, but it is business for the “new normal” that we are all experiencing.
